Welcome UArizona Learners to Canvas Badges

UCATT’s D2L & InTech team provides technical support for UArizona’s digital badging platform, formerly named Badgr and now called Canvas Badges.

UA's Canvas Badges platform offers some great benefits:

Badges are verified: All badges awarded through UA’s Canvas Badges platform have been vetted by the UA’s Alternative Credentials Coordinator, Erin Riesgo, to ensure that badge issuers have sufficiently met the program requirements for issuing micro-credentials. Badges are shareable: Digital badges are embedded with data that verifies your skills and achievements and have been rebranded to emphasize the UA official colors and logos. Proudly share these badges with colleagues and potential employers! Built-in sharing buttons make Canvas Badges easy to share on social media platforms such as LinkedIn or Facebook. Lifetime badge storage: You have access to Canvas Badges Backpack. This online storage stays with you after graduating or leaving UArizona and can be used to store any future badges you earn from thousands of issuers throughout your career. Instructions for using the Canvas Badges Backpack.

Viewing Your Badge(s)

You can access your badge(s) by first logging in with your UA NetID at: https://arizona.badgr.com/auth/login, then selecting My Badges:

Once logged in, we highly recommend that you add a personal email address to your Backpack so you can continue using it after graduating or leaving the UA. Instructions for adding an email to your Canvas Backpack account.

Accessing Your Backpack

You have a shortcut to the Backpack when you’re logged into the UA’s site. First, click on the small down arrow beside the name University of Arizona on the top left corner of your screen:

A drop-down list of options will appear. Select Canvas Badges Personal to go to a new screen, then select the Backpack tab to see where you can store and organize digital badges:

Merging accounts

If you encounter an error saying, ‘Failed to add email. This email may already be in use.’, it's likely an account already exists for the address you were trying to add.
